Making a fiberglass sculpture with bronze patina

Making fiberglass sculptures of mining figures working with bronze metal patina is one of the projects related to the sculpture section of Arshin collection. These sculptures are designed and made by composite fiberglass molding. volume_upcontent_copyshare

To create the master model, first the prototype is compressed on foam and prepared by CNC machining method. After preparing the foam model and refining it with the help of epoxy and gypsum coating, it is possible to continue the mold making operation. In this method, the model of the sculpture is pressed back and forth on the foam and is cut very accurately with the help of a CNC machine. Details and some details of the face are added to the cheeks, eyes and hair by hand technique and with the help of sculpting paste. Editing the face with the help of sculpting paste increases the visual quality and details of the figure. After completing the details of the face and plastering the foam body of the sculpture, it is possible to continue the construction of the sculpture with the help of fiberglass manual molding method. In this method, the fibers and resin are applied manually on the volume and after the curing of the sculpture mold is prepared. volume_upcontent_copyshare

The features of the sculpture production method with the help of molds include the high quality of the sculpture, the possibility of installing an internal metal structure and the possibility of repeating the construction of several similar sculptures. volume_upcontent_copyshare

After preparing the molds and connecting them, the production of the final sample begins and the sculpture is produced in 4-5 layers with the help of polyester resin and glass fibers and is ready for assembly. The pieces of the sculpture are assembled together with the help of fibers and are ready for the finishing and pre-painting stage. volume_upcontent_copyshare

At this stage, all additional joints and surface problems are fixed and the fiberglass sculpture is ready for painting and patina operations. In this method, the sculptor creates different colored coatings in a combination of industrial and manual methods and the sculpture is ready to be installed. volume_upcontent_copyshare

The execution of these sculptures has been done completely in Arshin collection. volume_upcontent_copyshare

It is possible to design and accept orders for making all kinds of sculptures in the Arshin collection using the exact CNC method and at lower costs than the old manual methods. Features of sculpture construction in this way include high quality construction, dimensional accuracy, three-dimensional design of the sculpture before the final sample is made, lower construction costs and shorter delivery time. volume_upcontent_copyshare
